Tradition for over 100 years

The history of Alpengasthof Pichler

Alpengasthof Pichler has been around for over 100 years and is now run by the 4th generation. Manuel Pichler took over this inn, which started with 40 guest beds, from his father Christian on August 1, 2016.

From July 7 to July 8, 1955, the inn was completely destroyed by a fire. Miraculously, the family and all holiday guests present - the inn was fully booked at the time - made it out unharmed and found lodgings in the neighborhood.

At that time, a charred wooden cross was recovered from the rubble and to this day is still a reminder of the night of the fire. Within 2 years, the building was rebuilt - but with only 14 guest beds for the time being.

Over time, further expansions and renovations of the inn were carried out. In 1962, the "Passler" (our "mountain hut"), which was a neighboring house, was purchased, and today, it houses 5 beautiful, rustic, and comfortable double rooms as well as 2 large vacation apartments for 2 to 6 people.

In spring 2017, Manuel decided to completely redesign the guest rooms in the main house. With loving attention to detail, small retreats for a perfect stay in East Tyrol were created. Alpengasthof Pichler offers a total of 18 rooms and 2 large vacation apartments for nature lovers - you will certainly feel right at home here during your vacation.
