The St. Jakob ski resort in Defereggen, 10 minutes away by car, is truly an insider tip – very manageable, absolutely family-friendly and accessible to all. Away from mass tourism, you can enjoy perfectly groomed slopes here. Due to its altitude (approx. 1,400 m), our ski resort is very snow-sure. Our ski huts also impress with their East Tyrolean charm. In addition, you can use other ski resorts (Matrei-Kals, Sillian, Mölltaler Glacier and Ankogel) with the same ski pass at no extra charge!

Austria's largest artificial ice climbing park – just a 20-minute walk from the Matreier Tauernhaus – is a real highlight for all climbing enthusiasts. Around 50 icy routes await you here in a compact space. Thanks to perfect conditions and top ice safety, it is ideal for beginners and professionals alike!

Hop on your sledge, get set, go! The Oberholz toboggan run is only 1 km away from the house and is perfect for families! The Alpe Stalle and Leppetal runs also offer plenty of winter fun.
